A Summary of Doctrinal Beliefs

We believe the Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, to be the verbally inspired, infallible, inerrant, and preserved Word of God, and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice (II Tim. 3:16–17; II Pet. 1:20–21). We believe God has preserved His Word through the manuscripts of the Textus Receptus and Masoretic texts.

For English-speaking people, these texts are reflected in the King James Version (KJV), which shall be the ministry’s standard for preaching and teaching. Yet, we do not make this an issue of orthodoxy or fellowship.

We believe in one God eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-equal in nature, power, glory, and perfection (Gen. 1:26; Deut. 6:4; Isa. 6:3).

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal and only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, fully God and fully man (Phil. 2:5–8; John 1:1; 14:9; Isa. 7:14; I John 4:14). We believe He died as the representative, vicarious, and substitutionary sacrifice for sin, bodily arose from the dead for our justification (I Cor. 15:1–4), ascended into Heaven, and now ministers as our Mediator, Advocate, and High Priest (Heb. 12:2; I Tim. 2:5; I John 2:1; Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25). We believe in the imminent, personal, pretribulational, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His saints and His subsequent return to establish His millennial kingdom (I Thess. 4:13–18; Rev. 19:11–20:6).

We believe all mankind is sinful and in need of salvation (Rom. 3:10, 23), which is provided solely through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Salvation is the free gift of God (Rom. 6:23), by grace through faith alone, apart from works (Eph. 2:8–9; Gal. 2:16), and is received through repentance and faith (John 1:12; 3:16; Rom. 10:9–13). We believe justification by faith establishes an eternal relationship with Christ and that the believer is eternally secure (John 3:16, 36; 10:29).

We believe the Church is the body and bride of Christ, composed of born-again believers (Col. 1:18; Eph. 5:25–29; Acts 2:47; I Cor. 12:13). We believe the local church is autonomous under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, free from external authority or control, and commissioned to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world (Acts 20:28; Matt. 28:18–20; Mark 16:15). We recognize two ordinances: believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We further recognize two biblical offices: pastor (bishop/elder/overseer/shepherd) and deacon (Phil. 1:1; Acts 6:1–6).

We believe Satan is a literal being, the author of sin and adversary of God and man, who shall ultimately be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire along with the fallen angels (Gen. 3:1; Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:2, 10).

We believe in the personal, literal, and premillennial return of Jesus Christ to receive His Church, the Bride of Christ, at the Rapture. We believe this event will be followed by a literal seven-year Tribulation, which constitutes the seventieth week of Daniel’s prophecy. At its conclusion, Christ will return to Earth and reign from Jerusalem for one thousand years. Following His millennial reign and the Great White Throne Judgment, the lost, together with death and Hell, will be cast into the Lake of Fire. We believe in the eternal blessedness of the saved in a literal Heaven and the eternal destruction of the lost in a literal Lake of Fire (Daniel 9; Revelation 19:11–15; 20–22).

We believe believers are called to holy living and separation from sinful practices and religious apostasy so as not to bring reproach upon the name of the Lord (Rom. 12:1–2; II Cor. 6:17; Rom. 16:17; I John 2:15–17).

We believe every believer bears responsibility to proclaim the Gospel by life and witness and to support the fulfillment of the Great Commission at home and abroad through biblical means and cooperation with like-minded churches and ministries (Matt. 5:16; 28:19–20; Mark 16:15; John 15:16).

We believe God created the universe in six literal, twenty-four-hour days and reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as contrary to Scripture (Gen. 1–2; Ex. 20:11).

We believe God ordained sexual intimacy exclusively within marriage between one man and one woman (Gen. 2:24; Heb. 13:4). We believe homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, fornication, adultery, pornography, incest, bestiality, and all sexual immorality are contrary to God’s design (Gen. 19:5,13; 26:8–9; Lev. 18:1–30; Rom. 1:26–29; I Cor. 5:1; 6:9; I Thess. 4:1–8). We believe God created humanity as male and female (Gen. 1:27), and that attempts to reject or alter one’s biological sex/gender are contrary to God’s created order. We believe men and women are spiritually equal before God but have distinct biblical roles in the home and church, including male pastoral and deacon leadership (Gal. 3:28; Col. 3:18; I Tim. 2:8–15; 3:4–5, 12). We further believe the only legitimate marriage is the joining of a man and a woman (Gen. 2:24; Rom. 7:2; I Cor. 7:10; Eph. 5:22–23).

We believe marriage is intended by God to be lifelong (Mal. 2:16a). Divorce is contrary to God’s design except upon biblical grounds of sexual immorality or abandonment by an unbelieving spouse (Matt. 5:32; I Cor. 7:15), and remarriage is permissible only upon biblical grounds (I Cor. 7:27–28).

We believe human life begins at conception and that unborn life is sacred before God. We believe abortion constitutes the unjustified taking of unborn human life, except in circumstances necessary to preserve the life of the mother (Job 3:16; Ps. 51:5; 139:14–16; Isa. 44:24; 49:1, 5; Jer. 1:5; 20:15–18; Luke 1:44).
