The End of a Nation

Normally, I do not simply post a quote.  However, there is little more that could be added to this poignant thought.  It is a quote from a sermon by Dr. Adrian Rogers.   It is certainly worth reading and praying that our national leaders understand its truth!

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

(The late Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 – 2005)

  1. I am certain that President Obama understands the principle expressed by Dr. Rogers quote.

I am also certain that Abraham Lincoln understood the principle too, even while he printed the “Green Back” dollars to finance the civil war.

There is so much more at stake in this present financial and global crisis, than merely preserving the lifestyles of the wealthy.

The economic stimulus plan is not going to create a new “welfare state” — President Obama and especially his wife Michelle (the First Lady) were raised in Middle class families — they want that for all Americans (not welfare). The U.S. Middle class is now in danger of sinking into poverty. If that happens, then we really do risk a cultural revolution that would end in socialism… not on Obama’s watch, but within a generation. And the Republicans, along with Baptist Ministers, will be largely responsible.

Shame on You Pastor Wynn — there is nothing in the Lord’s teaching that would suggest He is the protector of the wealthy!

Every program Obama is trying to implement would help people to help themselves! And the least you could do is help get the boot of the wealthy off the back of the working man.

I (and most Americans) have no problem giving to those who can not work. I do however have a problem giving to those who will not work, and that is biblical. I see it all the time. I am far from wealthy, but still I watch my tax dollars feed, cloth, and house people who are to lazy to work. I do not see this trend getting better in the near future.
